(October 22, 2012 – Toronto/Lexington) Risk Control Technologies Inc., the industry-leading provider of loss control software solutions for insurers, today announced that Lexington, Kentucky-based Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI) has completed implementation of the RC Inspection software solution to streamline its loss education and safety field operations. KEMI is the largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance in Kentucky, providing coverage to more than 20,000 policyholders throughout the state.

RC Inspection is a highly configurable field safety and loss control software platform which allows insurers to manage all aspects of their field loss control, health and safety processes. This configurability allowed Risk Control Technologies, working closely with the KEMI team, to fully implement the solution over a 6-week period.

“The implementation was a painless process for us,” said Elizabeth Paul, Director of Field Services for KEMI. “We were up and running very quickly which meant that we started realizing a return on our investment almost immediately.”

The KEMI team has also been trained by Risk Control Technologies so any ongoing changes to rules, forms, standard recommendations and other system features can be done internally by a business user. This flexibility allows KEMI to rapidly respond to changes in the workers compensation loss control landscape, to maximize the effectiveness of its field staff.  KEMI also expects large productivity gains which will allow field consultants to focus more on workers compensation account management to increase the number of safety touchpoints with insureds.

As part of the rollout of RC Inspection, KEMI is outfitting field representatives with iPad devices which will be loaded with the RC Inspection field app. This will allow the field reps to collect risk data, photos, recommendations and other pertinent loss control documents in the field, even in locations without wireless broadband connections. Once the user is online the data is then uploaded into a central database which automates the recommendation notification process and allows underwriters and management to utilize the information in making decisions. This central data repository also offers loss control data-mining and reporting capabilities which have traditionally been unavailable in the paper-based loss control environment in which most insurers operate.

“We congratulate KEMI on a very successful implementation,” said David Hanley of Risk Control Technologies. “KEMI has a strong history of making Kentucky workplaces safer, and by equipping the field health and safety staff with our technology, the company will be able to even further enhance these efforts.”
